Our client is one of the world's leading manufacturers of sophisticated software-controlled car park management systems. They have a global presence and their innovative systems provide their customers with a competitive advantage.

Due to on-going expansion they now seek to recruit an Area Sales Manager responsible for driving the sales and marketing activities of their product range in the North of the UK.


  • You will have independence, but will require working to goals and targets.
  • You will be based from home, but you will be required to travel within the UK to visit customers and their sites, predominantly in the North.
  • Develop new customers, building a sales pipeline and supporting existing customers. This includes telephoning (including cold calling), visiting and making presentations to customers.
  • Assist with the annual sales and marketing plan.
  • Develop and support key accounts in conjunction with the MD.
  • Build relationships with companies selling complementary products with view to developing distribution partner channels.
  • Assist with advertising, PR activities and mailshots for the North.
  • Produce quotations and tender returns.
  • Produce regular sales reports & sales forecasts.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with suppliers.
  • Assist and man exhibition stands & road shows.
  • Monitor and assist with the sales of maintenance agreements.


  • You will have a proven track record in sales and you will be used to independent working and the achievement of targets.
  • You could come from the Security Systems - CCTV, Access Control, Alarm or Transportation / Mass Transit - Revenue Collection / Ticketing or ATM, Biometrics or gaming sectors. The ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) sector, Car Parking / On-Street / Off Street / Pay-on-Foot / Traffic / Car Parking Operator sector, or perhaps a systems integration organisation or capital equipment manufacturer or a technical company who deliver project solutions to the Public sector for e.g. NHS, Police, Local Authorities or Retail sectors.
  • Any knowledge of IT based electro-mechanical products / client server systems / equipment controlled through the internet would be highly advantageous; but full product training will be offered.
  • You will have a current UK driving licence.

A starting salary c. £35,000 p.a. - £40,000 p.a.+ commission OTE c. £50,000 p.a. - £55,000 p.a. + a package that includes a company vehicle, pension 3%, + phone + 25 days holidays.
