Account Manager

General job description

To be responsible for the day-to-day running of several key accounts, clients and projects and for every job executed to ensure continual excellence across project planning, delivery and evaluation.

Key elements of the role:

Client Handling

  • Display excellent communication skills when dealing with clients and create a strong sense of company partnership
  • Building and maintenance of strong client relationships from brief taking through to project delivery & evaluation
  • Actively pursuing new business opportunities through existing client relationships and pitch to clients
  • Creating a partnership with clients and suppliers
  • Ability to see bigger picture of a project and to provide clients with expert opinions and additional services
  • Ability to utilise industry knowledge and experience to interrogate briefs, ask relevant questions and advise on how to improve the event and our offering where relevant
  • Project reporting and evaluation
  • To be a confident presenter and be able to present to a client in a professional manner

Campaign Responsibilities

  • Styling & Sourcing
  • Design event concept & specific stylingCreate beautiful and realistic mood boards using templates with accompanying vision statements
  • Excellent "out of the box" sourcing skills
  • Production
  • Work closely with our production partners/suppliers on everything we build/make.
  • Basic production knowledge to be able to brief suppliers and communicate clearly with clients on their requirements.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety legislation in event practices
  • Suppliers
  • Maintain strong relationships with our key partners and suppliers
  • Develop suppliers lists and actively search for new opportunities.

Staffing Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the Staff Booker/Account Executive
  • Booking staff and building staff relationships
  • To be able to write staff profiles, adapt them to the needs of the client and confidently be able to identify staff for appropriate jobs
  • To be able to confidently conduct casting sessions and give clients expert advice on who is appropriate for jobs
  • To be able to write clear staff briefs
  • To go on site to jobs where appropriate and to deliver face to face staff briefings
  • To be able to assist in or hold training sessions, both brand and company, and give corrective coaching on site to field team members
  • To work in the field to Event Manager level where necessary with confidence
  • To ensure that all staff are working to company standards


  • Management of event logistics and campaign planning
  • Research and booking of items e.g. hotels, travel and accommodation
  • Production Scheduling
  • Creating timelines and status reports for clients
  • Formulation of appropriate project systems e.g. spreadsheets, and to confidently be able to use the existing the systems and spreadsheets
  • Manage junior members of the team in stock control, inventory and maintenance of all kit and equipment stock.
  • Innovate and develop new processes to improve productivity within the team.

Financial Management

  • Tight financial management and control of event budgets
  • Understanding of company financial systems including margins, invoicing, POs etc
  • Accurately logging agency time in timesheet portal, managing your team's time and working to financial targets

Delegation & Management Of Others

  • Directly manage junior members of the team
  • Set tasks and confidently delegate them
  • Manage people through the project process, giving your team an overview of the event as whole
  • To be able to manage your own time and the time of others who are working with you on a project/s
  • To be able to delegate upwards/know when you need more senior help
  • To lead by example
  • Be an inspiring leader

New Business & Business Development

  • Recognise new business opportunities
  • Communicate any new clients to New Business department
  • Keep in touch with clients who move on to other agencies
  • Upsell company services
