Customer Service & Sales Representative - Build to Rent

Leeds £27,000-£29, hours per week

Cobalt is recruiting a Customer Service & Sales Representative for an established Build to Rent operator in Leeds.

This is an on-site role combining customer service, lettings and property operations within a large residential development. You will support residents throughout their journey, from their first enquiry and viewing through to moving in and day-to-day life within the development.

The development also offers communal facilities including a co-working lounge, gym, gardens, movie room and car park.

The organisation

Our client is an established Build to Rent operator with a focus on creating a residential experience where people feel listened to and looked after.

Customer service and community are central to the development, with the on-site team supporting residents while maintaining a high-quality living environment.

The Customer Service & Sales Representative will work alongside colleagues across leasing, facilities, operations and finance, reporting directly to the General Manager.

The role offers:

• A salary of £27,000-£29,000.
• 40 hours per week across five days.
• Shifts between 08:00 and 19:00 on a rota basis.
• Saturday working on a rota basis.

The role and responsibilities

As the Customer Service & Sales Representative, you will have a varied position covering the resident journey, lettings administration and the day-to-day operation of the development.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Responding to enquiries from current and prospective residents by telephone, in writing and face to face.
• Conducting property viewings and following up with prospective residents.
• Supporting resident applications, tenancy contracts and renewals.
• Assisting with check-ins, check-outs, inventories and the wider move-in and move-out process.
• Maintaining accurate information across CRM and property management systems.
• Supporting deposit administration, rent collection, utility registrations and council tax communications.
• Providing a welcoming reception experience for residents, prospective residents, contractors and visitors.
• Helping to resolve resident queries, service requests and complaints.
• Supporting resident events and activities that contribute to the community within the development.
• Assisting with property inspections, maintenance reporting and the overall presentation of the building.
• Working with the General Manager and wider team to identify improvements to customer service and lettings processes.

The Customer Service & Sales Representative will therefore suit someone who enjoys working directly with people and wants exposure to customer service, lettings and property operations within Build to Rent.

The skills needed

We are looking for someone who can provide a high standard of customer service while managing the administrative requirements of a residential environment.

You should have:

• Experience within property lettings or a related residential environment, such as Build to Rent, student accommodation or serviced apartments.
• Good customer relationship skills and attention to detail.
• Good organisation and administration skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and confidence using property management systems.
• The ability to work independently while supporting colleagues across the development.
• The flexibility to work Saturdays and public holidays in line with the rota.

Experience within the private residential or Build to Rent sector would be advantageous. Knowledge of Yardi or a similar property management system, sales experience and ARLA membership would also be beneficial, but are not listed as essential within the job description.
