A growing UK heat network developer is looking for a Business Development Manager to bring new customers onto its low carbon heating networks. You will develop opportunities, explain the commercial and environmental case for connecting, and lead negotiations through to contract signature.

The opportunity

You will join a business developing district heating networks in towns and cities across the UK. Working with the commercial lead and project teams, you will shape the customer proposition and help organisations navigate the decision to connect. The role suits someone who enjoys complex, consultative sales and is comfortable working in a growing, changing business.

The package includes a market competitive salary, a performance bonus of up to 30%, a pension with up to 7% matched contributions, private medical insurance and travel insurance. The position is based from an office in Oxfordshire, with travel to meet customers, stakeholders and colleagues.

What you will do

• Build and manage sales pipelines and plans across multiple heat network projects.
• Engage prospective business customers, understand their requirements and present the case for connecting to a low carbon heat network.
• Prepare customer proposals, support commercial analysis and lead contract negotiations through to signature.
• Work with the commercial and project teams to improve the offer, customer journey and project marketing materials.
• Guide customers through onboarding, maintain relationships and support subsequent commercial discussions and contract management.
• Contribute to workshops and events for customers and stakeholders, and support communications about projects and key milestones.

What you will bring

• B2B sales experience, ideally involving complex technical or infrastructure propositions and a consultative approach.
• Strong commercial judgment, including the ability to analyse options and support customer decisions.
• Experience negotiating contracts and managing relationships with multiple stakeholders.
• Clear written and verbal communication, including presentations and customer proposals.
• An interest in district heating, sustainability or energy, and a willingness to develop your technical knowledge.

Experience using HubSpot would be useful, though it is not essential. You must be eligible to work in the UK.
