Description:	Business Development Director Main Contractor Our client is a growing construction business specialising in the delivery of high-quality residential, mixed-use, hospitality and luxury developments across London and the wider UK. The business has established a strong reputation for delivering complex schemes, including new-build residential developments, high-rise projects, refurbishments and challenging or distressed developments. Following continued growth and an expanding project pipeline, they are looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Director to take ownership of the company's business development strategy and help drive the next stage of growth. This is a senior, commercially focused position for someone who can combine strategic business development with strong industry relationships and a genuine understanding of the construction market. The Role As Business Development Director, you will play a key role in identifying new opportunities, developing client relationships and securing future work for the business. You will work closely with the senior leadership team to develop and implement a clear business development strategy. Responsibilities will include: Developing and implementing the company's business development strategy Identifying new business opportunities across the construction market Developing relationships with developers, investors, funders and consultants Building and maintaining a strong network of industry contacts Identifying upcoming developments and construction opportunities Monitoring the market and competitor activity Developing a strong project pipeline Leading initial client engagement and opportunity qualification Attending client and networking meetings Representing the business at industry events Developing long-term client relationships Supporting the preparation of bids and tenders Working closely with the pre-construction and estimating teams Supporting the handover of secured opportunities into pre-construction Maintaining accurate records of opportunities and pipeline activity Preparing regular business development reports for senior management Contributing to the company's wider growth strategy Identifying opportunities for repeat business and framework agreements Developing relationships with key consultants and professional advisors Supporting strategic partnerships and joint opportunities About You The successful candidate will have a proven track record in business development within the construction or property sector. You will ideally have: Significant experience in construction business development Strong knowledge of the London construction and property market An established network of developers, investors, consultants and industry contacts Proven experience generating and securing new business Experience working for a main contractor would be highly advantageous Strong understanding of residential construction Experience with high-value residential, mixed-use or refurbishment projects Excellent communication and presentation skills Strong commercial awareness Excellent relationship-building skills A proactive and entrepreneurial approach Ability to identify opportunities before they reach the wider market Strong negotiation skills Experience working at senior management / director level A track record of winning new work and developing existing relationships What s on Offer £90,000 £120,000 salary Company package Performance-related bonus Senior leadership position Opportunity to influence the future growth of the business Significant autonomy and responsibility Access to an established construction and property network Opportunity to work across high-profile residential and mixed-use developments Long-term progression as the business continues to expand If you are an established Business Development Director / Head of Business Development / Business Development Manager with strong construction and property relationships, this could be an excellent opportunity to take a senior role within a growing business.
