We are seeking a strategic yet hands-on Sales Manager for our client who have a trading history dating back over 100 years. The business designs and manufactures bespoke materials handling systems for sectors including cement, aggregates, glass, waste to energy and power generation.

Due to an internal promotion they are now looking to recruit a Sales Manager with immediate effect. You will be responsible for driving the growth for the sales of the bespoke equipment they manufacture and the aftermarket services they can offer.

The Opportunity

Your Role as Sales Manager (Capital Equipment and Aftermarket) will see you leading a division of the business with a turnover of £4 million. You will be responsible for the management and leadership of the sales team that delivers new equipment sales, aftermarket services and spares.

This will initially be a team of five, as part of this role you will be growing the team in line with the company s vision.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Lead & Inspire: Mentor and develop the sales team
• Drive Strategy: Design and execute a robust sales strategy to ensure the company are winning new business effectively and maximising opportunities with existing customers across equipment, spares and aftermarket.
• Manage the Pipeline: Overseeing the team s workload, ensure precise CRM compliance and looking for opportunities to refine the sales process
• Escalation: Acting as escalation point for enquiries from customers
• Bids & Proposals: Ensuring bids and proposals going out for projects with customers are fit for purpose, competitive and effective. Projects can range from 100K up to 3 million.

What You ll Need to Succeed:

• Sales Leadership: A proven track record in the leadership and management of sales teams within an engineering business.
• Commercial Acumen: A demonstrable history of profitably growing order intake over a sustained period.
• Data & CRM Driven: Strong analytical skills with experience using CRM systems to drive forecasting accuracy and pipeline visibility.
• Relationship Builder: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to confidently pitch to and negotiate with strategic client representatives.
