LOCATION: Liverpool (remote/field based)
PACKAGE: Up to £45,000 basic + commission + company car

THE COMPANY

Our client is a leading coatings manufacturer specialising in decorative and protective industrial finishes for wood, metal, glass and plastics. With a strong reputation for quality and innovation, the business is continuing to grow and is looking a motivated sales professional to cover the Liverpool area.

THE ROLE

This is a predominantly field-based sales role, focused on winning new business and developing customer relationships across an assigned territory.

The position is approximately 70% new business development and 30% account management, making it ideal for a proactive, commercially driven individual who enjoys identifying opportunities, winning new customers and growing sales.

The successful candidate will work from home when not visiting customers, with access to office support, technical advice and product samples as required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
• Promote and sell the company's range of wood coatings and finishes to existing and prospective customers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, developing long-term commercial partnerships.
• Manage and grow existing accounts while prioritising new customer acquisition.
• Provide customers with product information, technical support and advice where required.
• Negotiate commercially and sell on value rather than price alone.
• Monitor market trends, customer requirements and competitor activity.
• Work towards agreed sales targets and contribute to the company's growth plans.
• Provide feedback to management on customer needs and potential business opportunities.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

• A proven track record in sales, ideally with a strong new business development focus.
• Experience within wood coatings and finishes would be advantageous, although candidates from related industries will also be considered.
• Experience selling abrasives, fittings, power tools or other products into relevant manufacturing and finishing sectors would be beneficial.
• A driven individual who enjoys winning new business and achieving sales targets.
