- Reactivating Lapsed Accounts: Contact previous customers, understand their current needs and work to rebuild business relationships.
- Technical Consultations: Discuss customer applications, technical specifications and operational requirements to identify suitable products and solutions.
- Sales Negotiation: Prepare quotations, follow up on opportunities, negotiate commercial terms and secure orders.
- Customer Support: Work with internal colleagues and technical specialists to answer product queries and ensure customers receive appropriate support.
- Territory Management: Manage your diary, plan travel efficiently and maintain an active pipeline of customer visits and sales opportunities.
- Industry Development: Keep up to date with relevant products, technologies, competitors and market opportunities.
About You The successful candidate will be confident working with customers, technically capable and motivated by achieving sales results. You will ideally demonstrate:
- Previous experience in field sales, technical sales or a similar engineering-focused commercial role.
- Strong technical knowledge and the ability to understand customer requirements.

- Strong communication, organisation and relationship-management skills.
- A self-motivated approach, with the ability to work independently in a remote position.
- The ability to plan and manage a UK-wide territory effectively.
- A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel throughout the UK.
Experience within industrial automation, encoders, sensors, instrumentation, motion control or engineering components would be beneficial. Candidates from related technical sales environments who can demonstrate transferable knowledge and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
Salary, Benefits and Working Arrangements
- £40,000 basic annual salary plus commission.
- Company car or car allowance.
- Remote and field-based working across the UK.
