Josh's Chocolate is a premium artisan chocolate maker based in Truro, Cornwall. Founded in 2019, we handcraft exceptional chocolate bars, our famous Gigantic Buttons and hot chocolate that capture the essence of Cornwall. Our distinctive packaging has earned us placement in prestigious retailers including Liberty London, Gloucester Services and numerous farm shops, delis and visitor attractions across the Southwest.

Most of our products are made in-house in our own factory close to Truro. We have recently invested in our production facility to realise the sales potential of the business.

We are now looking for a dedicated team player to help in the next phase of our business journey.

The Role

We are seeking an energetic, customer-orientated Telesales Executive to join our small team and play a key role in our growth journey. The role is primarily, but not limited to an office role with three key objectives:

  • Account retention and development (50%): Nurturing our existing stockist base across Cornwall, Devon and the rest of the country. You'll be the regular point of contact for our customers, ensuring the highest levels of customer service, maintaining / increasing order frequency and up / cross-selling our all-year-round and seasonal range.
  • Expanding reach to new customers (25%): Manage sales funnel to broaden our customer reach through research and identify new opportunities, initiate contact / cold call, send sample packs, convert lead to onboard accounts and support with all the necessary materials to establish a regular ordering pattern.
  • Broader sales support (25%): Support Josh with customer and sales admin to ensure faultless customer experience and highest satisfaction responses. There may also be the requirement to attend trade exhibitions.

You will be a cornerstone of our sales team and therefore business. You ll be getting to know your customers and building strong relationships and flying the flag for Josh s Chocolate. You'll work closely with Josh to deliver against ambitious but achievable growth targets.

This role suits someone who wants meaningful, flexible work with a growing local business perhaps alongside other commitments, a return to work or as a step back from full-time employment. We can shape the working pattern to fit the right candidate this could be a short week, short day to work around school pick-up etc.

About You

Requirements:

  • Friendly, confident, proactive and happy to be the face (and voice) of Josh s Chocolate. Proven prior sales experience preferred.
  • Experience in or knowledge of the food, drink, retail or hospitality sector.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • A team player who fits into a small, close-knit environment.
  • Adaptable and flexible comfortable with the changing demands of a growing business.
  • Someone who gets stuff done focused, organised and results-oriented.
  • Open and transparent honest, direct communication is how we work.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle (mileage paid).
  • Willingness for occasional travel across Cornwall, Devon and further afield.
  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends for events (time off in lieu).

Desirable:

  • Existing relationships with farm shops, delis or independent retailers.
  • Passion for premium food and drink. Loves good chocolate.
  • Understanding of seasonal trading patterns in tourist areas.
