THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a highly confidential opportunity for an experienced General Sales Manager to join an established automotive dealership in Berkshire.

We're looking for a commercially focused Sales leader who can drive performance, develop a team and take ownership of the overall Sales operation.

Due to the confidential nature of the appointment, full dealership details will be discussed privately with shortlisted candidates.

THE ROLE

You'll take responsibility for the day-to-day performance of the Sales Department, leading the team and ensuring commercial and customer objectives are consistently achieved.

You'll be responsible for:

• Leading, motivating and developing the Sales team.
• Driving new and used vehicle sales performance.
• Managing departmental targets, KPIs and profitability.
• Monitoring individual performance and identifying areas for development.
• Ensuring strong lead management and customer follow-up.
• Supporting the team with deal structures, appraisals and negotiations.
• Maintaining excellent customer service standards throughout the sales process.
• Working closely with Aftersales and senior management.
• Managing stock effectively and maximising opportunities.
• Ensuring manufacturer and dealership standards are consistently maintained.
• Recruiting, coaching and developing Sales team members where required.
• Taking ownership of overall departmental performance.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for an experienced automotive Sales Manager who is ready to take responsibility for a larger operation.

You'll need:

• Proven experience as a Sales Manager / General Sales Manager within an automotive dealership.
• Strong knowledge of both new and used vehicle sales.
• Proven experience managing and developing a Sales team.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of dealership KPIs.
• A track record of delivering against sales and profitability targets.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• A confident and professional approach to customer and team management.
• Strong organisation and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• A full UK driving licence.
