St Albans 30,000+ depending on experience
Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm

You'll join an established logistics business within a financially strong group, working from a modern St Albans office as part of a small sales team. Your contribution will be noticed, and you'll have the opportunity to develop your knowledge, take ownership of customer relationships and progress as your experience grows.

Freight forwarding experience isn't essential. The business has successfully developed people from other industries, including travel sales and account management. What matters is your communication, enthusiasm and willingness to pick up the phone.

The role

This is a varied position combining outbound sales, account management, quotation follow-up and administrative support.

You'll build relationships with new and existing customers, ask questions to understand their requirements and identify opportunities to win more business.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Calling prospective and existing customers to discuss their transport requirements

• Reconnecting with customers to understand why quotation requests or orders have reduced

• Preparing quotations and following up to gather feedback and secure business

• Managing customer accounts and maintaining regular contact

• Negotiating with customers and suppliers

• Working with colleagues to support customer enquiries and shipment requirements

• Maintaining accurate customer records and providing administrative support

• Taking part in sales meetings and customer meetings where required

About you

You could come from sales, account management, travel sales or a customer service role involving regular telephone contact.

• A friendly, confident telephone manner

• The willingness to make outbound calls and ask useful questions

• Strong listening and relationship-building skills

• A positive personality and enthusiasm for learning

• Good organisation and attention to detail

• The confidence to follow up quotations and handle objections
